The Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie is on this week and provides an opportunity for us to present our “crushes” among the new models launched by our watch brands.
This year is IWC’s 150th anniversary and a milestone well worth celebrating! Firstly, with an IWC Tribute to Pallweber Edition “150 Years”, in reference to the Pallweber pocket watches that were the first produced by IWC in 1884. Available in platinum, red gold and steel editions (of 25, 250 and 500 respectively), these models are endowed with a 60-hour power reserve. But this anniversary collection is not just about a new line, since it also involves revisiting the brand icons (Portofino, Portuguese, Da Vinci and Pilot) so as to unveil exceptional timepieces sharing the same anniversary collection aesthetic codes. They are all characterised by a white or blue dial, the former featuring blued hands and the latter with rhodium-plated hands. Each model also bears the “150 Years” anniversary logo, either engraved or appearing as a medallion, and is available in a limited edition.
The IWC Tribute to Pallweber Edition « 150 Years » is the first-ever IWC wristwatch with a jumping numeral module. Just like the historic Pallweber pocket watches, which were made in Schaffhausen back in 1884, it displays the hours and minutes using large numerals on rotating discs.
The new Portuguese models notably include a model equipped with a perpetual calendar with the anniversary collection design, and a chronograph equipped with an in-house IWC movement. An anniversary edition of the Portugieser Hand-Wound with a 8-day power reserve is also being launched for fans of hand-wound watches
